Terms of service
Last updated October 6, 2026
These terms apply to merchants who install Mint 404 Redirects ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The service
The app adds a 404 tracker (theme app embed) to your store that reports addresses visitors reach your 404 page on, keeps a log of them, suggests a target in your catalog for each one, and creates, edits, imports and exports your store's URL redirects through Shopify's Admin API. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.
Your redirects
Redirects are created in your Shopify store and belong to it: they keep working if you change plans or uninstall the app, and you can edit or delete them in Shopify at any time. Suggestions are computed from handles and titles and may be wrong; you decide which ones to use. If you switch on auto-fix (Pro), you instruct the app to create redirects for strong matches on your behalf; you can undo each one. Shopify only applies a redirect to an address that shows the 404 page, and limits the number of redirects per store.
Plans and billing
Plans are chosen on Shopify's plan page and billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial, under Shopify's terms. You can change or cancel your plan there at any time, or uninstall the app; a move to the free plan takes effect at the end of the billing cycle already paid for.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to redirect visitors to deceptive, harmful or unlawful websites. We may pause the app for a store that abuses it, and will tell you why.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.
Data processing addendum
The app is designed not to process personal data of your customers: the 404 log holds storefront addresses (without query strings), visit counts and the referring website's name or your own page that linked to the address. To the extent any personal data is processed on your behalf (for example the network address a visitor's browser uses to send a report), you are the controller and we are the processor, and we will:
- process it only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
- use a visitor's network address only transiently, as a keyed one-way hash for rate limiting, and never store it, log it or combine it with other data;
- never sell data, use it for advertising, profile visitors, or train AI models with it;
- keep data confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
- encrypt data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
- use Cloudflare (hosting, database, queue) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
- delete the 404 log as described in our privacy policy and all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction);
- assist you with data subject requests and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.
Changes
We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
